Ripple XRP Market Cap & Supply Data
Ripple's XRP holds a market capitalization of approximately $90.77 billion USD as of March 2026, securing its position as the #5 ranked cryptocurrency by market cap globally. The market cap is calculated by multiplying the current XRP price by the circulating supply of over 61.2 billion XRP tokens.
XRP Supply Structure Explained
XRP has a fixed maximum supply of 100 billion tokens, all of which were pre-mined at the XRP Ledger's inception in 2012. Ripple Labs received 80 billion XRP from the founding team and placed 55 billion of those into time-locked escrow accounts. Each month, up to 1 billion XRP is released from escrow; any unused portion is returned to escrow for future release. This mechanism ensures predictable, transparent supply expansion and minimizes the risk of sudden large-scale market dumping.
Unlike Bitcoin, which relies on mining to issue new supply, XRP was fully pre-mined. This design makes its supply schedule highly predictable and is often cited as an advantage for institutional investors requiring supply certainty.
The fully diluted valuation (FDV) of XRP — which accounts for all 100 billion tokens including those still in escrow — currently stands well above $140 billion at current prices. Traders and analysts track both market cap and FDV to assess the long-term price impact of future supply releases. Ripple's $750 million share buyback program announced in early 2026 at a $50 billion company valuation also underscores growing confidence in the broader Ripple ecosystem.
